FAQ
Sizing
I am not sure about the size
Please use our size charts as a general guide to help you select your size for our swimwear, activewear and neoprene suits. If you have a specific sizing question or would like more information, please e-mail: contact@abysseofficial.com. We are always happy to advise!
Does your swimwear run true to size?
Our suits run pretty true to size as per our size charts. Our suits are designed for comfort and being active, both in and out of the water. They are made with 100% recycled materials and double-lined for durability, so our fabric won’t stretch out as much as other swimwear you might be used to. This means that if you are on the cusp between two sizes, we would recommend sizing up, as our fit may feel more snug.
We recommend measuring yourself following the guidelines provided on our size chart page. Please note, some of our styles do differ and have a unique fit. So in addition to using our size charts, we recommend also referring to any specific recommendations provided on each product page.
I wear different sizes for bikini tops and bottoms, what size should I choose for your one-pieces?
We would typically recommend going with the larger of the two sizes to ensure a comfortable fit all around.
I am tall, but have a very slim waist and hips. What size should I choose for your one-pieces?
We recommend going with a larger size to accommodate for height, typically the smaller size will be too short. Some of our suits have a more slim, high-waist than others, so these should still fit well around the waist.
I want to buy a wetsuit, how should my suit fit?
Your wetsuit should be a snug fit when new and will loosen off slightly once wet. A good fit is essential for keeping warm!

Fabric
What is your swimwear made of ?
Our swimwear range and active are entirely made out of 100% recycled fabric. Our classic swim and active fabric are made out of Recycled Polyester certified by Global Recy- cled Standard (GRS), and our custom ribbed fabric from Recycled Nylon certified by Global Recycled Standard (GRS), to verify the authenticity and origin of recycled content.
We are also Oeko Tex certifed, Standard 100 Oeko-tex certification ensures that no harmful substances are used in the entire fabric and garment production. All of our fabrics rate at a 4.0 GRS for knitting, dyeing, printing, finishing, and warehousing of its content, and was rated by Intertek and Control Union Certified.
All of our pieces are currently lined with the same recycled fabric, which completes our vision of unity for one 100% recycled product.
What are your wetsuits made of ?
Abysse wetsuit range continues to exclusively be made out of premium Yamamoto Japanese Ecoprene.
Ecoprene is a limestone based neoprene, less harmful to the environment. Limestone based neoprene is earth consicous because it uses earth mined limestone to replace petrochemicals in the neoprene. It comes from nature and has less environmental impact. Although certain amount of oil is needed to make soft rubber foam, we stopped using petroleum-derived oil. Instead, we use food-grade pure Canola oil, which comes from Canola blooms for sustainability and safety.
Limestone based neoprene is considered the lowest carbon footprint in the modern wetsuit production.
All linings are made from post consumer plastic waste on all our suits, which the majority derives from post consumer plastic bottles, lowering our environmental impact.
What is the UV protection ?
Our swimwear fabric had been tested and rated UPF 50+ providing excellent protection.
The analysis was performed in accordance with Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4399-2020 CP Sun Protective Clothing.

Care
How should I care for my swimwear?
Swimwear and Activewear: Our swimwear and activewear lines are both made out of 100% recycled ocean waste. More precisely, repurposed discarded ghost fishing-nets. They also need a little care in order to last longer.
Swimwear care: Hand wash and rinse in cold water, then hang in the shade.
Activewear care: You can use your washing machine but we recommend a gentle wash and natural drying in the shade.
How should I care for my wetsuit?
Japanese Limestone Neoprene: Neoprene is a durable material made for ocean sports and activities to keep you warm. The downfall of neoprene is that it creates creases while folded, this is totally normal as neoprene is technically ‘foam’. Do not freak out if your wetsuit has creases! Wearing it in the ocean is the best cure. It will mold to your body and the foam will relax.
Neoprene care: Make sure to wash your neoprene suits in cold water after every use and to store them flat, in a dry environment, away from the sun or moonlight.
