  • NEOPRENE

Abysse wetsuits are exclusively made from Japanese Limestone Based Neoprene.

Limestone based neoprene is the best eco-friendly option of the 21st Century in terms of wetsuit material.

Limestone based neoprene has superior qualities than normal neoprene, such as ultra low resistance, superior mold ability and enhanced comfort, high heat retention, lightweight and high durability.

The limestone based neoprene provides enhanced comfort and further reduces water resistance while also allowing for an unprecedented range of movement while swimming or diving. The expansion ratio of the materials is 7 times greater than that of conventional wetsuit materials and the difference is apparent even before you get in the water through the ease in wearing the suit.

Due to the superior heat retention, the body is kept warmer, decreasing body fatigue and improving performance. Moreover, limestone based neoprene boasts heat retention properties that are 40% greater than conventional neoprene wetsuits.

Lastly, limestone based neoprene is extremely durable and resistant to abrasions, allowing for a longer product life as well as enhanced performance throughout the product life.

Japanese limestone based neoprene is a remarkable material, with a great deal of qualities but can be fragile you do not take care of it properly. Rinse it in cold-water, hang in the shade out of the sun or moonlight. Do not bleach, iron, machine wash or tumble dry.

The wetsuits and bikinis are 100% designed, and hand-made in California.

  • BIKINIS & ACTIVEWEAR

Ghost Fishing Nets are given new life through fabric & we use it to make our products. First, you must know that Ghost fishing nets are the silent killers of the ocean.

What is a ghost fishing net? Ghost fishing refers to lost or abandoned fishing gear, also called derelict fishing gear (DFG), that continues to capture fish and other marine animals after the gear is no longer under the control of a fisherman (Smolowitz, Corps, and Center, 1978).

Every year, thousands of fishing nets are discarded in the ocean. These are the invisible killers of our marine life. In fact, the impact of these silent killers are way greater that you could imagine, as they continue harming the marine life even after it is broken, discarded or lost in the ocean. Over the course of its lifespan, a piece of DFG may kill large numbers of commercially valuable or threatened species (Laist, 1987).Animals are trapped and suffocated by the ghosts fishing nets, their habitat is destroyed and even the reef is impacted.

We are very proud to be working with a material that gives ghost fishing nets  & discarded fabrics new life while combining development of cutting-edge technological solutions coherent with their ethical code which is oriented to increasing environmental awareness.

This process is INFINITE, which means these items can be recycled infinitely.

All our Bikinis and Activewear are made out of 100% recycled Nylon from ghost fishing nets.
